Camille Rodríguez Montilla was born in Margarita Island, Venezuela. She is a journalist and filmmaker whose work explores the social, environmental, and emotional landscapes of contemporary Venezuela.
Through long-term and immersive reporting, she documents the human dimensions of political and economic upheaval, focusing on stories that move beyond narratives of collapse to foreground intimacy and cultural complexity. Her reporting and visual work have been published by international outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, The Guardian, CNN, and agencies such as the Associated Press and Agence France-Presse, among others, positioning her within a global network of cross-border journalism.
She is a Pulitzer Center and National Geographic Society grantee. Her short documentary, The Crisis of Illusion, is a project addressing depression and rising suicide rates during the pandemic in Venezuela. The work received a special mention at Pictures of the Year (POY) in 2023.
IN 2025, HER FIRST MID LENGTH DOCUMENTARY BEAUTYLAND WAS SCREENED. IT WAS FILMED WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE EMBASSY OF GERMANY IN VENEZUELA.

A través de reportajes de largo aliento e inmersivos, documenta las dimensiones humanas de la crisis política y económica, centrándose en historias que van más allá de las narrativas de colapso para poner en primer plano la intimidad y la complejidad cultural.
